Marina Bay Sands Outlets | Singapore | Week 1

Aēsop, Marina Bay Sands, (B2–90A)

First Impression of the outlet; Classy & Aesthetically pleasing.

Second Impression; Aromatic & Spacious.

Thoughts; Personally, I feel it gives out a different kind of feeling before & after stepping in, out of the outlet. Probably, It’s because I felt inferior because of the shop’s personality or rather the outlook. I really love how they represent the product, it gives out the expensive & bold feeling. It’s really interesting to see how’s the entrances like, though it’s a little bit confusing. After leaving the shop, the smells somehow leave with me as well. It’s very relaxing & swooning.

Research: Aesop produces skincare, haircare, soaps, and fragrance. Each Aesop store has a unique interior design developed in collaboration with various architects, interior designers, and artists

TISSOT, Marina Bay Sands, (B2M-245)

First Impression of the outlet; Expensive & too much going on.

Second Impression; Too bright, Classy/Expensive & Interesting,

Thoughts; I don’t really like how it has too many things going on. It feels a little bit too suffocating as it’s not spacious and there’s too much installation of advertisement going on. Aside from that, I find the outlook of the store from the outside, how they have the logo in the middle and screens at the side to advertise that it’s a watch shop.

Research: Tissot is a luxury watch brand from Switzerland. Since 1983, Tissot belongs to the Swiss conglomerate Swatch Group (Longines, Breguet, Blancpain, Omega). Tissot introduced the first mass-produced pocket watch and the first pocket watch with two time zones in 1853 and the first anti-magnetic watch in 1929–30.

Raspura Masters; (B2–50 Canal level) Digital Light Canvas (Level B2, near ArtScience Museum)

First Impression of the outlet; Simple & Cool

Second Impression; Interesting & Imaginative

Thoughts; I really like how it’s really near to Raspura, as it’s very convenient for parents/families who have children. It’s a large area where Adults, teenagers, and kids can enter and play around. Without parents worrying about their kids getting lost.

Research: Experience the food paradise that is Singapore as you sample a host of local and regional delights at Rasapura Masters.

Starbucks Reserve, Marina Bay Sands, (#B2–56)

First Impression of the outlet; Simple & Basic

Second Impression; Relaxing & Simple

Thoughts; To be honest, the first time I entered the shop I don’t really think or feel there’s anything different about it but I personally like the layout of the whole store how they did the interior.

Research: The Roastery showcases specialty, small-lot Starbucks Reserve coffee. In comparison, a traditional Starbucks store averages around 1,800 square feet. According to a company spokesperson, customers typically spend four times more in the company’s Roastery locations than in a traditional Starbucks.

GentleMonster, Marina Bay Sands, (#B2–103/104/105)

First Impression of the outlet; Interesting & Expensive

Second Impression; Aesthetics & Intruging

Thoughts; The first thing that attracted my eyes was definitely the installation they have on the display because is something very unusual and artistic, I’m sure a lot of people would enter the shop to see what is it really that they are selling because at one glance you wouldn’t think that it will be a shop that sells sunglasses or spectacles.

Research: Gentle Monster styled as GENTLE MONSTER is a South Korean sunglasses and optical glasses brand founded by Hankook Kim in Seoul in 2011

TWG Tea
TWG Tea (B1–222)

First Impression of the outlet; High end & Classic

Second Impression; Grand & Aesthetically pleasing

Thoughts; I like the idea of how they are able to have it in the middle of the mall with a very splendid view and It’s also nice to have the tea party feel without the need to be literally outdoor

Research: TWG Tea is a Singaporean luxury teahouse chain and a namesake brand of artisanal tea. The brand was established in 2007 as a subsidiary of a Singaporean lifestyle company,

TOD’S

First Impression of the outlet; Interesting & Intriguing.

Second Impression; Authentic & Well-Organized.

Thoughts; I honestly find it very interesting how I’m able to see the process on how they created the shoes and how they are able to come out with the idea and showcasing it in the store.

Research: Tod’s S.P.A., also known as Tod’s Group, is an Italian company which produces luxury shoes and other leather goods.
