With an array of creative tools at his fingertips, visionary artist G-Dragon has set out to create his own utopia. Though lurking forces keep his utopia at bay, he holds out hope that one day his dream will become reality. As he continues to create, his hope grows, and now he’s sharing that hope under a layer of white paint, in this new iteration of the AF-1 Low x PEACEMINUSONE.
Over time, white paint on the shoe’s upper will wear away to reveal a freestyle G-Dragon design, representing his faith in creation. Bearing the logo of his fashion label, PEACEMINUSONE, on the tongue, these AF-1s also feature painted streaks on the midsole, extra-thick laces, and a special graphic print on the sock liner.
The reason behind working with white after black iteration.
The first design contrasted his painting on a white canvas with a black layer on the upper. This time round he wanted to go in the opposite direction. Who knows, there might be more colorways in the future, and he thinks that we can treat the first two as the background color for additional releases to come. It represents the idea that no matter how you look from the outside, who you really are on the inside won’t change.
Is there a certain group of people he wishes would wear these kicks?
These sneakers aren’t just for people at the age of 30 or younger fans. He would love to see people who are the same age as his parents and grandparents wear them too. If he ever sees someone around that age range wearing the shoes, he would definitely approach them and take a photo with them
